The Saint David Fire District is governed by a five member non-partisan board elected at large by the registered voters of the Fire District. Board members are elected to alternating four-year terms so there are at least two members elected every two years. The Board establishes policy and approves the annual budget. As a special district of the State, the Saint David Fire District must comply with all applicable Arizona Revised Statutes such as the Open Meeting Laws. The Fire District holds open public meetings on the fourth Wednesday of every month.
In accordance with state law, notice for all fire district public meetings, along with agendas must be posted at least 24-hours in advance of the meeting. Public notices for the Golden Shores Fire District are posted at the following locations:
- Saint David Fire Station 28 – 515 E Dragoon Vista Ln, Saint David AZ 85630
- Saint David Post Office – 21 S Miller Ln, St David, AZ 85630 (Bulletin Board Inside Lobby)
- Saint David Fire District – Facebook Page
- This Website (see Notices)
Public meeting notices are also posted on the Saint David Fire District website. Please be advised that only Saint David Fire Department, and Saint David Post Office may be relied on for official postings under the Arizona Open Meeting Law. A Technological problem or failure that either prevents the posting of public notices on a website or that temporarily or permanently prevents the use of all or part of the website does not preclude the holding of the meeting for which the notice was posted, if the public body complies with all other public notice requirements.
Special Meetings and Announcements will be posted as provided in A.R.S. 38-431.02.
