Apply for an Arizona DEQ Burn Permit

Your burn location is outside Saint David Fire District’s taxing district, so SDFD is not authorized to issue a burn permit for this property. Continue to Arizona DEQ’s online application.

Our taxing district is different from our emergency response area. SDFD responds to calls outside our taxing district, but that does not give us authority to issue burn permits for those properties.

How to answer the application questions

Select Cochise County for your burn location.

When asked “For Cochise, will you be burning within any of the listed Fire Jurisdictions?”, select No if your property is outside all the listed jurisdictions. Being within SDFD’s emergency response area does not mean you are within its taxing district.

When asked “What is the closest fire department to the burn?”, enter the following if SDFD is the closest department:

• Phone: 520-720-4045

Then click Save & Continue and complete the remaining application questions.

Before burning, follow your permit conditions and check all applicable fire restrictions.
